Rooted in Nature: Plant-Based Origins
LACTAE HEVEA® soles begin with virgin hevea milk, sustainably harvested from Hevea trees in Southeast Asia’s tropical plantations, primarily in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. Similar to tapping maple syrup, our process involves making narrow incisions in the tree’s bark, allowing the milk to flow without harming the tree, promoting its growth and longevity.
This 100% natural hevea milk, oil-free, and plastic-free material ensures a pure and eco-friendly foundation for our soles that is as kind to the planet as it is to your feet.
Our Eco-Conscious Process
Sustainable Harvesting
Hevea milk is collected daily from about 20 trees per pair of soles, using methods that preserve tree health and support plantation ecosystems.
Artisanal Process
In Val de Virieu, France, over 50 manual steps transform the milk into soles, minimizing energy use and waste through traditional craftsmanship.
Low-waste Design
Our precise molding and natural drying process forms the alveolar structure with minimal material waste, using every drop of hevea milk efficiently and producing recyclable scraps.
